Salsa Music with some Video Clip Links

Pop artists Coldplay teamed up with Cuban band Buena Vista Social Club to make this cha cha cha or slow salsa song called 'Clocks'. Click the play button above to hear it.

We occasionally get requests to recommend Salsa music. Most people have different tastes. We therefore have only copied a few links from music video clips below from You Tube. This is by far not exhaustive. If you would like us to include more links, then please email your links to Barry Gordon. It is worth mentioning that the quality of some "You Tube" music video clips are much lower than the quality of bona fide cds but they are good to get a taste of what to expect. They are sometimes filmed at live events with mobile phone cameras. We recommend that you ask the dj for details of any tracks you particularly like at your salsa club, or to play any requests if he / she has it.

The record label Fania was synonymous with salsa music in the beginning of the salsa era. So any artists reffered to as the Fania stars would be highly recomended listening. At the bottom of this page, we have added a list of popular singers for your reference. Please feel free to search You Tube & see what music you like. Don't be afraid to ask the dj @ your club for any requests you may have. Alternatively Facebook users may prefer to listen to any music for free by clicking here.

If you would like to know more about any singer or band etc. on the clips below then we recommend that you follow the links & then click on "more". Alternatively, you may prefer to search the Wikipedia rather than a general search engine if they are well known enough to be listed.

Very often, musicians play several genres of music. E.G. Sting played various versions of 'Fragile', but the salsa version below is often played in salsa clubs in London lately. He is much better known for his pop music for many years.

We list below, salsa singers & bands whose recorded music is recommended by BestSalsa. We apologise to any musicians not yet mentioned here. We will be pleased to update this list once we have a recorded sample of salsa music that we like. For example there are some great bands around who mostly play other people's music, but don't have such great music of their own yet. -
